it's an interesting approach, but I don't think it really works - the bald sky can impart a feeling of oppressiveness and I like the way it fades across the image, but the lack of detail or at least differentiation in the hills makes it seem more like a Rorschach test, except for the power-line towers which are the only point of focus and don't seem to fit

Really appreciated your analysis, I may say it was the first critique, ever, I receied in DA. :)
I do have to agree with you and your commentary made me acknowledge this photograph from a different point of view (the power-line towers that don't really fit), besides my camera can't be the only responsible for this "lack of quality"...

I think it is important, especially when the artist requests an advanced critique, to help out and really comment on the work - a comment like "this is great" doesn't help very much (though it is nice to hear ;)) - at any rate, I'm glad it helped you out
